The morning DJ is back.
CASE STUDY VIDEO
Problem: Spotify’s Your Daily Drive offers a perfect mix of personalized songs and podcasts—yet many drivers still prefer the companionship a radio DJ offers.
Solution: To gain more listeners in the car, Spotify will introduce “Spotify DJ,” giving users the ability to record a brief DJ introduction for any song of their choosing.

RADIO’S NOT DEAD… YET.
Spotify’s Your Daily Drive is similar to radio with the mix of news and music it provides. But what if it could also bring the companionship a radio DJ offers?
YOUR FAVORITE SONGS, YOUR VOICE
With Spotify DJ, users will record a brief DJ introduction for any song of their choosing and get to see it appear the next day in their Daily Drive along with others’ picks. This will provide a sense of connection and lead to a more intimate listening experience.
DON’T HAVE A DJ VOICE? NOW YOU DO.
To add to the DJ experience, users can easily adjust their voice higher/lower, faster/slower or with other special filters. Users can sound like a chipmunk. Or like they just sucked in helium. Or even like a famous celebrity like Morgan Freeman.
JAM OUT WITH ANYONE
To get started, users pick a public or private group. In a private group, the user will only hear their friends’ picks. For the public option, they’ll be sorted into groups according to their taste, starting by selecting a genre or mood for that day.
VR: STAND BEHIND THE TURNTABLES
Those at home can enjoy Your Daily Drive with Spotify DJ through a VR experience. It will allow users to DJ in one of many themed rooms in front of a real VR audience even their friends can join.
SOCIAL MEDIA: FEEL LIKE THE STAR OF THE SHOW
Users will also have the ability to share their voice to social media via Instagram stories. The best ones will have a chance for their DJ playlist to be featured on Spotify’s homepage as the Spotify DJ of the Week.
